Natasha Nelson is thrilled to return for dell’Arte Opera Ensemble’s 2016 festival after making her company debut last summer as Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. Natasha has performed the roles of Geraldine in A Hand of Bridge and Despina in Così fan tutte with New York Opera Exchange, and in 2012 appeared in recital at The Dramatists Guild of America as part of NYOE’s summer recital series. She also performed in opera scenes from Carmen, as Mercédès, and L’italiana in Algeri, as Zulma, in a concert collaboration between NYOE and Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra.

Natasha was a student of the late Maestro Daniel Ferro. She began her vocal studies with soprano Mayda Prado and earned a Master’s degree in Voice Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she was a student of Sylvia McNair. As a participant in the Daniel Ferro Vocal Program, Natasha has performed a diverse selection of operatic and song repertoire, including Rossini’s La regata veneziana at the Castello di Verrazzano in 2014. Natasha has attended Le Mesnil des Arts in Montaut, France, under the direction of Florence Katz and Agnès Watson, and the Westchester Summer Vocal Institute under Dr. Sherry Overholt.
