Charles Calotta

    Charles Calotta (Milord Cover in La Cifra) is a recent graduate of Vanderbilt University, where he was a regular performer in the Vanderbilt Opera Theatre Company, most recently as Laurie in Adamo’s Little Women.  In school, he was the recipient of awards for excellence in Opera Performance and Collaborative Arts. At the 2017 “Prague Summer Nights” and “Lyrique International de Belle-Île” Festivals he performed roles in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Don Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro, and L’Elisir d’Amore.  This season, Charles was in Scrooge and Gilbert & Sullivan and Tosca with Amore Opera Company, and Weill and Brecht’s Mahagonny Songspiel with Downtown Music Productions.  Charles has performed on recital and concert stages as well, most notably as the tenor soloist in Saint-Saëns’s “Requiem” and as a regular soloist with the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra. Charles will begin his graduate performance studies with the Maryland Opera Studio in August 2018.
