Andrea Howland appeared in 2017 as the title role in the US Premiere of Donizetti’s La Zingara with Amore Opera, as well as Tisbe in La Cenerentola and Third Lady in The Magic Flute with the Opera Theatre of Montclair. In 2018 she will return to Opera Theatre Montclair for Hänsel in Hänsel and Gretel.  Performances in the 2016-17 season included Zulma in scenes from L’Italiana in Algieri and Mercédès in scenes from Carmen with the Bel Canto in Tuscany festival, as well as Soeur Mathilde in Dialogues of the Carmelites with the Opera Company of Brooklyn. Previously, she was a member of the ensemble at North Carolina Opera and a soloist on the company’s “Opera 101” school outreach tour. She holds degrees in vocal performance from Oklahoma City University and Appalachian State University and is now based in New York City, where she studies with soprano Elizabeth de Trejo.
