|Andrea Howland (Smeton in Anna Bolena and cover for Melchora in Juana) recently sang Giovanna Abatiello in Garden State Opera’s The Silk City. She’s sung the Third Witch in an adaptation of Verdi’s M*cBeth at La MaMa ETC, Olga in Eurasia Festival’s Eugene Onegin and Hansel in Hansel and Gretel with Opera Theatre of Montclair. With dell’Arte Opera Ensemble Andrea has sung several roles including: Mary Seton in Mary, Queen of Scots while covering the role of Aleta in Princess Maleine; Dorabella in Così fan tuttee; and ensemble in Salieri’s La Cifra. Other credits include: Donizetti’s La Zingara with Amore Opera; Tisbe in La Cenerentola; Third Lady in The Magic Flute with Opera Theatre of Montclair; Mercédès in Carmen; and Soeur Mathilde in Dialogues of the Carmelites with Opera Company of Brooklyn. Andrea was chosen as the mezzo soprano young artist at the Canadian National Arts Center’s Ottawa ChamberFest under the auspices of Pinchas Zukerman.|
